Cape Town International airport is the second busiest airport in South africa, and the third in the whole of Africa. The airport was called DF Malan airport (named after the prime minister) until the mid nineteen ninety's.

The airport has a total of five terminals. These are Domestic arrivals, Domestic Departures on South African airways, International departures and International arrivals. All of the terminals are very close to each other and therefore a short walking distance. Cape Town International airport handled well over eight million passengers back in 2007.

Because of the increasing numbers each year and also the FIFA world cup being staged in 2010, the airport is under going major changes.
